PART 2. LANGUAGE FOCUS.
 I. Present progressive with always.
 1. Form: S+ is/ am/are always+ V-ing
 2. Usage: 
 - Nhấn mạnh điều gì đó thường xuyên xảy ra, với trạng từ always
 Ex: Bao is always forgetting his homework.
 She is watching TV .
 II. Past progressive .
 1. Form: S+ was/were + V-ing 
 2. Usage: 
 - Diễn tả hành động đang diễn ra tại thời điểm nhất định trong quá khứ, với trạng 
 từ at seven o’clock last night..................
 - Với hành động khác cắt ngang trong quá khứ, thường đi với từ while
 3. Ex:
 - Ba was taking shower at eight o’clock last night.
 - While the Le family was sleeping the mailman came.
 III. Reported speech.
 *. Reported Speech là câu tường thuật lại một lời nói của ai đó.
 Ex:
 The man said : “ I am a plumber”
 → The man said he was a plumber.
 The woman said : I live in Ho Chi Minh city.
 → The woman said she lived in Ho Chi Minh city.
 *. Một số từ được đổi trong câu tường thuật.
 Direct indirect
 - I he/ she
 - We they
 - me him/ her
 - my his/ her
 - our their
 IV. Indirect questions.
 1 *. Indirect question là tường thuật lại câu hỏi yes/ no.
 Ex:
 - Nhi asked Nga “ Do you know My Son?”
 →Nhi asked Nga if/ whether she knew My Son.
 - Nhi asked Nga “ Is My Son in Quang Nam province?”
 →Nhi asked Nga if whether My Son was in Quang Nam province.
V. Request with:
 1. Would / Do you mind + V-ing?
 Agree disagree
 - No, I don’t mind - I’m sorry, I can’t
 - No, of course not - I’m sorry, that is not possible.
 - Not at all
 Ex:
 Do you mind moving your car? – No, of course not
 2. Would you mind if I + V-ed/ V2 ?

VI. Passive forms
 1. Present simple S+ be (is/am/are) + V-ed/ V3
 Ex:
 - In the rice cooking festival, a fire is made in the traditional way.
 2. Past simple tense. S+ be (was/ were) + V-ed/ V3
 Ex:
 - Christmas songs were performed for people in towns and villages eight hundred 
 years ago.
 3. Future simple. S+ will +be + V-ed/ V3
 2 Ex: 
 - An English speaking contest will be held at Nguyen Hue School next month.
 4. Present perfect:
 S+ have/ has +been + V-ed/ V3
 Ex:
 - The dried mushrooms have been scattered all over the floor.

I. Read the passage and answer true or false.
Tet or Lunar New Year holiday is the most important celebration for Vietnamese people. Tet is 
a festival which happens in late January or early February. Before Tet, people usually clean and 
decorate their homes. They go to mark to buy candy, jams or dried water melon seeds. They 
also get new clothes which are worn at Tet. They often buy beach blossoms and marigolds 
which are traditional flowers on Tet holiday . Tet is a time for family members gather and 
have some special meals with special food such as sticky rice cakes. People foten visit relatives 
and close friends on the second day of the holiday.

II. READINNG. 
Nha Trang is a nice seaside resort and an ideal center for relaxation. Nha Trang has many 
beautiful mountains and lakes, Cham towers, hot springs and architectural work. However, 
when speaking of Nha trang, people always mention its beaches in the first place. Nha Trang’s 
beauty comes first of all from the blue sea and picturesque nature of its islands. This coastal city 
has a ten kilometer beach and 19 islands. The main beach runs from Tran Phu road and it is 
planted with pine trees and other evergreen trees. Nha Trang is a coastal city but it is not far 
from forests. In the west of the town, There is a long range of hills where visitors can walk 
pleasantly. Nha Trang has many ancient cultural buildings. The town still preserves a lot of old 
towers and pagodas. Nha Trang is sunny almost all the year round. 
It doesn’t have winter, but in the winter it isn’t as hot as in the North. The cool wind from the 
sea gives the town an eternal fall.
